Postmedia: Brewmaster alumna Morag Kloeze recognized for train station-turned-brew pub in Owen Sound

Postmedia News featured a Niagara College Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management alumna, Morag Kloeze (2015) in their piece entitled “Brews News: All aboard for our summer rail and ale tour.” The article features breweries from around Ontario with ties to railroads. Kloeze’s Mudtown Station in Owen Sound is the site of an abandoned CP passenger station. Signature brews include Brakeman Blonde, Wigwag IPA, and Dark Signal Porter. She explains that some of her clientele stop in because they’re either interested in trains, used to catch the train there or work at the station. She and her business partner were drawn to the building – which features art deco, prairie, and art moderne architectural elements – because of its heritage, which she says “lends itself to creating a story for our brewery.” Read the July 23 feature story here.
