YourTV Niagara reported from an event announcing the launch of a new children’s book from the City of Welland called Wonders of Welland. Niagara College partnered with the City on the book, which tells the story of a child whose family moves to the city when his mom begins a job at the Welland Campus.
Wonders of the Welland was illustrated by NC alumnus Javier Carranza (Business, 2024) who worked with the City’s Communications department as a graphic design intern. In the segment, Carranza explains that he was given creative freedom on the project and describes the illustration process. His vibrant illustrations leap off the page and visually complement a story that features a diverse family and inclusive experiences.
