An article in The Grower reported on NC alumna Janelle Balsillie (Winery and Viticulture Technician Diploma, 2018) who has established a successful career in cider-making.
The article highlights that after studying at NC, Balsillie honed her orchardist skills in several of Ontario’s apple-growing regions, recently graduated from the American Cider Association’s certification program and is now one of four pommeliers in Canada, and is a full-time cider-maker at Heeman’s Cidery & Meadery at Thorndale. She also recently took on the challenge of launching her own Carolinia Cider Company from her family farm this spring.
