The three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) shared a profile on NC alumna and local baker, Cheryl Miller (Culinary Management program, 2001; Baker Apprentice program, 2004; and Patissier program, 2004).
Miller is the owner and sole employee of Cake by Cheryl, a business she operates from an addition to her home in St. Catharines. She recently earned “highly commended” honours — essentially, first runner-up — as cake designer of the year at the Ontario Wedding Awards 2024. Bestowed by Oceanic Awards, these honours recognize individuals, teams, and businesses in the wedding industry dedicated to exceeding clients’ expectations and giving couples a day to remember.
