On October 18, Quinte News shared that Niagara College has nominated Monique Belair, an alumna of the College (Law and Security Administration, 1985) and the Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief for the City of Belleville, for the 2021 Premier’s Awards in the Community Services category.
The coverage notes: “In a tweet, Niagara College says Chief Belair has blazed many trails and faced plenty of heat because of her gender in a traditionally male-dominated field in her 35-year career.”
