Niagara Dailies: Alumnus Kevin Smith taking post with British Columbia Emergency Health Services

An article in the Niagara Dailies and The Peterborough Examiner reported that Kevin Smith, Niagara EMS Chief, NC alumnus (Ambulance and Emergency Care, 1992) and NC Board of Governor, will be taking on a new role as Chief Systems and Strategy Officer for British Columbia Emergency Health Services.

The article includes comments from Dr. Mustafa Hirji, Niagara’s Acting Medical Officer of Health and Ron Tripp, Niagara’s Chief Administrative Officer, on Smith’s contributions to paramedicine in Niagara. Among his many notable accomplishments, Smith helped lead Niagara EMS’s transformation to a mobile integrated health model of service delivery – a structure that includes more than 450 advanced and primary care paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers, nurses, occupational therapists, emergency planners, support and administrative staff.
