Niagara College encourages all employees and students to register for COVID-19 vaccination

Starting Tuesday, May 18, 2021, individuals aged 18 and older are eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment in Ontario.

Vaccines are safe, effective and the best way to protect you and those around you from serious illnesses like COVID-19, and Niagara College encourages all employees and students to register for their COVID-19 vaccine when they become eligible.

At this time, several different appointment booking models are in place - as some public health units across the province have created their own booking tools, while others are using a blend of the provincial and locally developed tools.

Travel between regions is strongly discouraged and all students should book their vaccine appointment in the region where they are currently living.

How to book your COVID-19 vaccine in Ontario

Students who have OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan)
Students with an OHIP card who currently reside within the Niagara Region can book their vaccine appointments by calling their local pharmacy, doctor's office, or by using the provincial online booking portal.

International students currently in Canada
At this time, the provincial booking system does not support the scheduling of appointments for those without an OHIP Card. International students will need to research if their local pharmacies are offering vaccine appointments. You can find all pharmacy locations offering COVID-19 vaccines here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations

International students may be required to show a piece of government-issued photo identification (e.g. passport, driver's license, out-of-province ID) and proof of their current residence in Ontario. Students are also encouraged to bring a copy of their Niagara College Confirmation of Enrollment or Letter of Acceptance) when getting their vaccine and should have these documents available to present at the vaccine location.

Students without OHIP (out-of-province)
Students without OHIP may consider booking an appointment through a local pharmacy. You can find all pharmacy locations here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.

With some pharmacies now offering Pfizer and Moderna, this may be the earliest available opportunity for students to receive a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
