NC alumna Selma Lopes (Culinary Management, 2021) is a “wonder woman” according to the LCBO.com‘s 2022 International Women’s Day feature, which celebrated female winemakers and chefs in Ontario.
Lopes, who is originally from Brazil, is the chef at Fielding Estate Winery in Beamsville, where she works with winery Co-owner Heidi Fielding, who is also featured in the article, to design “the perfect snacks and meals to serve with the wines.” The perfect pairing according to the duo: Fielding’s Oaked Chardonnay VQA Vintages with chef Lopes’ wine-enhanced cheese fondue.
