Fall term update: Check your program status online

Message from Fiona Allan, vice president, Academic:

As a follow up to our March 18 Fall term Update, Niagara College continues to plan for a significant increase in on-campus learning for Fall 2021 term.

A mix of remote and in-person learning will continue in September within public health guidelines, but with the majority of programs offering at least some on-campus classes or labs. The plan is contingent on improved conditions and an expected loosening of restrictions in Niagara and Ontario by September. Under current restrictions, only approved essential program elements are allowed on campus.

The preliminary status for each Fall 2021 course and program is now available for Fall 2021 at niagaracollege.ca/covid19/fall2021.

Monitor site for updates

It is important to note that while we are providing program and course status information for Fall term now to give our students as much time as possible to plan for their studies, we also recognize that some changes may be necessary due to the evolving nature of the pandemic and the continued uncertainty around its trajectory and associated public health measures.

We strongly encourage students to monitor the website regularly for any potential changes to their program or course status. The College will also provide ongoing updates through the spring and summer months.

Commitment to safety

Safety has been our top priority in determining which courses and programs will return to campus, along with valued feedback from our students and faculty regarding how on-campus activity can enhance the student experience and the achievement of learning outcomes.

Rest assured that our College is committed to providing safe environments for our students and employees. All on-campus activity will comply with public health measures and directives for Fall term. We expect that measures such as physical distancing, health screenings and PPE requirements will continue to be in place this fall to help ensure the safety of our College community.

It is important to note that our plans for Fall 2021 follow two successful terms of hybrid delivery at NC, which have included on-campus classes and labs as required for many programs. In fact, almost half of all NC students have experienced an on-campus/ in person element to their program through the Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 terms. From modified spaces and strict access controls to enhanced personal protective equipment requirements, our College has a proven track record of success when it comes to ensuring the safety of our students and employees.
