On Thursday May 13, 2021, the provincial government announced that the current stay-at-home order, which was scheduled to end on May 20, will be extended for at least an additional two weeks. The order will now expire on June 2 unless a new announcement is made.
Niagara College is carefully monitoring information related to the extension and does not expect any changes to operations. Any schedule changes due to the extension have been shared at the program level, and are available via Blackboard.
Niagara College is reminding all members of the college community to follow provincial safety orders and to only leave home for essential purposes which, under the order, include school and work that is essential or cannot be done from home.
If you must leave your home for essential trips, continue to wear facemasks in public spaces, practice physical distancing and proper hand-hygiene. If you experience any symptoms at all, stay home, isolate and get tested.
Niagara College is also encouraging all employees and students to register for their COVID-19 vaccination when they are eligible. For information on eligibility and how to book a vaccine appointment, please visit Public Health’s COVID-19 vaccine information site.
Together, we are working towards a brighter future.
