CBC: College alumna featured as the craft brewer looking to shake up London’s beer scene

CBC News featured NC alumna Diana Salazar (Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management, 2015) for her unique and creative beers at Storm Stayed Brewing Company in London, Ont.

Storm Stayed’s co-owner, Justin Belanger, explained that the company hired Salazar as its Brewmaster because she “is committed to always improving herself, the product and cultivating a more diverse audience through inclusive, creative and unique offerings.” In the article, Belanger comments “This industry needs more diversity. It needs more women. So we’re happy to have someone like her on staff.”

Salazar, who is originally from Columbia, has plans to fuse Canadian brewing with Colombian culture by using native fruits from her home country in her future craft beers.

The coverage also includes a short video segment with the talented brewer.
