On October 18, The Belleville Intelligencer, and other Belleville-area publications, reported that Niagara College has nominated Monique Belair for a 2021 Premier’s Award in the Community Services category. Belair joins six other NC alumni who have also been nominated for Premier’s Awards this year.
Belair is a graduate of NC’s Law and Security Administration program (1985) and was invested this past June as the Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief for the City of Belleville. She has dedicated her career to the fire service for over 30 years and recently created Camp Molly to help inspire young women to join firefighting, a traditionally male-dominated field. Previously, Belair held deputy fire chief positions in both St. Catharines and Oakville.
